Life Tips for Thoughtful Seekers

You Can Change

Life can be hard and painful. God does not promise ice cream for dinner and bank accounts that double each week. Those are temporal pleasures. God offers true pleasures. Deep, enriching, nourishing fulfillment. THAT is what you are truly seeking. It is what we are all are truly seeking.

Q: How can I change?

A: By Seeking God. God will respond to you if you seek Him. If you are on this website, that is no coincidence. God sees you here. So respond to God and He will respond to you.

Some tangible methods for seeking God are:
-prayer
-reading the bible
-serving the poor and the needy

-watching a sermon online or on TV
-listening to sermon online or on the radio
-attending a church service
-listening to Christian music
-attending a bible study
-talking with a Christian friend
-talking with a Pastor
-reading Christian books

Q: Will it be hard to change?

A: Not as hard as it will be to stay how you are. God doesn't promise sunny skies for following Him, but He does promise and deliver peace in your troubled heart. Some people are reluctant to seek God because they are fearful of the life change it would mean. That is like any other phobia, it is baseless in reality.

Simply, it doesn't work that way. When someone comes to God for the first time, they do not miss the old way they lived. Although they have moments of missing, moments of being drawn back, most of the time and the deepest levels, they do not miss it. Missing it would be like falling in love and missing an acquaintance you met 5 years ago. It would be like eating a wonderful meal for dinner and missing that piece of old gum you were chewing that lost its flavor earlier today after lunch. People do not forsake their old lives because they are forced to, like anything else in life, people forsake their old lives because they want to....really what happens is they find something better.

Are you ready for something better?
