An Imagined Dialog Between a Human (H) and an Angel (A) about God's Existence |
H: How do I know that God exists? Does God exist?
A: Yes, God is. God always was. Before you, God was and God will always be. H: How can I know something exists if I can't see it? A: Yes. The blindness. How do you know the wind exists? You cannot see the wind. But it is there. You can see what the wind does to that which you can see. How do you know the gravity exists? You cannot see this. But if you drop a coin it will fall to the bottom. You can see what the gravity does to what you can see. Heat is not visible. Cold is not seen. Love is unseen. Good and evil are not seen. Humor is not seen. Yet laughter exists. The eyes of humans are trusted too much. This makes you blind to everything that cannot be seen. Everything you cannot see, that exists, you are blind to. H: Well I have my doubts. How can I be sure? A: How can you be sure of anything? You have many doubts. You doubt your importance to other humans. You doubt if you deserve love. You doubt and fear what might happen to you in the next days, or weeks, or years. H: How can you know all of that? A: We study humans. These and more doubts, fears, troubles are all common to humans. It is your path. It is the way of things for you. You are blinded by your flesh but you can choose to embrace your sight in your spirit. Yet, you choose blindness? And we do not know why. It is a choice. H: Tell me more about that. What do you mean I choose blindness? Why would I do that on purpose? A: Why yes. We do not understand why you choose blindness. H: Well, I don't want to be blind. A: That is wisdom. H: And you say I don't have to be blind if I don't choose to be blind? A: That is truth. H: So then how can you make me see that God exists. I don't want to be blind. A: Not I, but you. You must allow the sight. It is a choice. Choose it as you choose anything. H: How can I choose something I am not sure is there? A: This is called faith. H: Faith? So I am just supposed to choose something I don't know is there and then I will see it, but only after I chose it? A: Yes, but only if you are pure of heart. You must believe you will understand, that you will know, that God is with you. That God loves you. That God exists. Choose and you will see. Or stay blind. It is your choice. You are free to do what you want. But why you choose blindness is a mystery to us. Choose sight. Joy and peace await those that choose wisely.
