H: I want to ask about the Bible.
A: Yes? H: Can I trust the Bible? A: You can trust God. The Bible is God speaking. H: The Bible IS God speaking or it WAS God speaking in the past? A: No. It is both. God spoke and it was written. But God speaks today in many forms including through the Bible. The Bible is God speaking, today, and in the past. H: I am confused. The Bible is not being written today. It was written a long time ago. A: Human time...it was not very long ago in fact. The Bible is an active force in the world today. It is not just a historical record. Read it today, it will move in you. H: What do you mean move in me? A: When God speaks, action occurs. God said "let there be light" and there was light. God speaks, and the world changes. Psalm 33 says "For He spoke, and it came to be..." When you read the Bible, God speaks, so action happens, in you. H: What actions happen in me? A: Many types, many actions. H: Can you give me an example? A: The Bible is nourishment for the soul. When you feed your soul, your soul can grow and stay strong. Your soul is then ready for life. H: Life...you told me life is about worshiping God. A: Yes. H: So reading the Bible prepares my soul for worship? A: Yes, ultimately, that is the goal. H: Does the Bible do anything else? A: Yes, many types, many actions are born or moved when you read the Bible. Study it. Pray it. H: Pray the Bible? A: Yes, let the Bible give you words to say in your prayers...it is a powerful source of powerful actions. It feeds your soul and when your soul is fed, life will change.
