An Imagined Dialog Between a Human (H) and an Angel (A) about God's Existence |
H: Religious people pray a lot. I see them pray before meals or in church. Does any of that matter?
A: It matters much in many ways. H: What ways? A: Prayer has much mystery. Prayer changes: it changes those praying; it changes what will happen. It matters in the world you do not see and it matters in the world you see. H: Really? Pray changes the future? Sounds a little strange, like magic. A: Not like magic. It is complex. Human thoughts and desires impact the unseen world. Human requests and human speaking, impacts the unseen world. What happens in the unseen world also impact the seen world. Human are wrong. Humans believe they have no power and are weak, or they believe they have too much power and are prideful, but you do not understand. Prayer is a bridge. H: Prayer is a bridge to where? A: Bridges are not to, bridges are between. Prayer is a bridge between humans and God. H: So when I pray, God is listening? A: Yes. If you pray aloud, more than God is listening. H: Who is listening besides God? A: All. H: That sounds intense. What about prayers in church, like the one written in books from years ago. Are they good to pray? A: What is good to pray is what is in your heart. If they match your heart, pray them. Prayer is the expression of the human heart to God and the not visible world. H: Most people just ask God for favors when they pray. Is that good? A: It is not bad, but prayer is more than requests. But yes, prayer changes the future. So requests are good. But prayer is so much more than requests. Prayer is power. Prayer is influence. Prayer is praise, it is wonderful. Prayer speaks peace into the hearts of men. Prayer saves the soul. Prayer is so much. You must pray more. It will change your life. H: How do I pray? I don' t how. I don't want to make a mistake. A: Prayer is speaking to God what you think, what you feel. Just speak, with honor to God, and it is good. It is simple. It's impact is complex, but prayer is simple. H: Do Angles pray? A: Yes, but not the same as human prayer. Angles stand in the presence of the Holy One and speak when it is time. Humans stand in the seen world, they cannot view God with the eyes, but they may speak at any time they choose. It is wonderful. You should pray more. We would, if we could. We pray every chance we are allowed. You are different, you may pray when you choose. You should pray more.
